Trisha Krishnan Enthralls With Her Look As Princess Kundavai In Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan'

The film is based during the times of the Chola empire's reign in the southern part of India.

New Delhi: Filmmaker Mani Ratnam's upcoming historical period drama 'Ponniyin Selvan' is all set to wow the audience with its stellar star cast. The film is based during the times of the Chola empire's reign in the southern part of India.

After releasing Vikram and Aishwarya Rai's looks, the makers have now released Trisha's first look from the film. The actress will be seen essaying the role of Princess Kundavai, a Chola princess. Trisha looks radiant in a red and green saree, adorned with traditional silver jewellery.

Sharing the poster on her Instagram, Trisha wrote, "In a world of men, a woman of courage. Presenting Princess Kundavai!

#PS1 releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada! 🗡️"

'Ponniyin Selvan', touted as Mani Ratnam's dream project, will release in two parts. The film will see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan essaying the role of Nandini, Queen of Pazhuvoor. Karthi will be seen as the Chola army commander Vanthiyathevan and Vikram will be seen essaying the character of Aditya Karikalan.

'Ponniyin Selvan' is based on the classic novel by the same name written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The film will have a theatrical release in five Indian languages- Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

Starring Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala, the first part of the magnum opus drama will hit theatres on September 30, 2022.
