Qandeel Baloch deleted off Facebook, Instagram

Karachi: Social media sensation Qandeel Baloch, who was murdered by her brother last week, has been edited out from her social media handles. Her official FB page, that hosted her photos and videos, is no longer available, and her account on Instagram, also owned by Facebook, has been deleted, reports the Dawn. As per Facebook policy, any account which belongs to a deceased individual is automatically made into a memorialised account where friends and family can share memories on the timeline. However, according to Facebook’s help centre, “pages with a sole admin whose account was memorialised will be removed from Facebook if we receive a valid request.” Qandeel shot to fame with her ‘infamous’ Facebook and Instagram uploads, which according to many were objectionable. The deceased star’s brother, who killed her at her Multan residence, was arrested by police in Dera Ghazi Khan. He then confessed to killing his sister in the name of ‘honour’. All that remains of her online persona is her Twitter handle.
