SIIMA 2023 Winners: Kamal Haasan, R Madhavan Bag Top Awards, Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan Wins Big

The event is split into two sections; on the first day, the Generation Next Awards celebrate the most promising up-and-coming South Indian movie talents.

New Delhi: The best South Indian films from the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada cinemas receive awards at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA). The event is split into two sections; on the first day, the Generation Next Awards celebrate the most promising up-and-coming South Indian movie talents. The major SIIMA awards are presented the following day.

On day 2 of the event in Dubai on Saturday, the Tamil flicks 'Vikram' and 'Ponniyin Selvan' fared fairly well. R Madhavan also received big honours for his movie 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'. 'Nna Thaan Case Kodu', a movie from Malayalam cinema, was named Best Film in the Malayalam category, while Tovino Thomas, an actor from 'Thallumaala', was named Best Actor.
