Sobhita and Chay tied the knot on December 4, 2024 and Nagarjuna Akkineni shared pictures from the wedding on his official social media handle. While the wedding was private, several pictures and videos from the wedding have been going viral on social media.
Finding the ring video
In a video that has been doing the rounds on social media, we see the couple participate in the 'Fishing the Ring' ritual. For those unaware, the ritual involves placing a ring in a pot filled with opaque water or that which is filled with milk. The couple dives their hands in and has to 'fish' out the ring. It is believed that the winner holds an upper hand in the relationship.

In the video, we see Naga Chaitanya find the ring first and hand it over to the priest. In good sport, we see Sobhita smile and their play chemistry is winning hearts already.
Sobhita and Naga Chaitanya's wedding was steeped in tradition and reportedly the two had an eight-hour long wedding. The two also participated in a month-long celebration prior to the wedding, which began with an engagement ceremony in August 2024.
About the wedding ceremony
After the wedding, the Akkineni family released a statement, announcing, "The Akkineni family is delighted to announce the marriage of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala in a grand and traditional Telugu wedding held at the iconic Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, featuring an exquisite temple-themed setup."
The statement continued, "The wedding, held during the auspicious muhuratam of 8:13 PM, was a stunning display of Telugu traditions, with rituals performed under the guidance of elders."
Nagarjuna also shared his thoughts on the wedding, stating, "This wedding is a deeply meaningful moment for our family. Having Chay and Sobhita start their journey at Annapurna Studios, surrounded by the love of family and friends, fills my heart with immense pride and gratitude.
