After Parag Tyagi was trolled for walking his pet dog post Shefali Jariwala’s death, Rashami Desai defended him, reminding people that Simba was like a son to Shefali and urging empathy over judgment.

Actor Parag Tyagi, mourning the sudden loss of his wife Shefali Jariwala, became the target of harsh trolling after a video of him walking their pet dog, Simba, surfaced online. Just a day after Shefali’s passing, the clip showed Parag stepping out of their Mumbai residence with the dog, which led several social media users to question his grief and accuse him of not appearing “sad enough.”

Now, actor Rashami Desai, who shared a close bond with Shefali during their time in 'Bigg Boss 13', has strongly come out in his support. Taking to Instagram, Rashami shut down the insensitive commentary and urged people to show basic humanity during such a painful time.
Reposting the viral video, she wrote, “Arreee bhaiya, let's spread kindness and compassion instead of judgment! Simba was more than just a pet - he was Shefali's beloved son. Her sudden passing leaves a huge void, and I urge the media to respect the family's grief and give them space during this difficult time. Let's show empathy and understanding, not sensationalism.”

The video in question was filmed on Saturday morning and appeared to show Parag holding a photo frame, believed to be Shefali’s, while walking Simbu. Despite the emotional nature of the moment, many online comments questioned his actions, with one user writing, “Was it necessary to take the dog out?” while another asked, “Is he not sad?”
Shefali Jariwala’s sudden death
Shefali Jariwala, best remembered for her breakout appearance in the early 2000s hit remix Kaanta Laga and later for her stint in Bigg Boss 13, passed away on the night of June 27. She was 42.
Her husband Parag Tyagi rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, where she was declared dead on arrival. According to Mumbai Police, a post-mortem has been conducted, but the cause of death has been “reserved” for now. While preliminary reports suggested cardiac arrest, official confirmation is still awaited.
