Vettaiyan OTT release: The highly anticipated Tamil action-drama ‘Vettaiyan’, starring cinematic icons Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, is gearing up for a grand release on Prime Video on November 8. Directed by T.J. Gnanavel, the film brings together a talented cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Abhirami, in significant roles. 

Prime Video will premiere ‘Vettaiyan’ in Tamil, with dubbed versions available in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The release will reach audiences in India and span across 240 countries and territories.

Earlier, the film was scheduled to release on November 7. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala had told Hindustan Times, “Vettaiyan released in theatres on October 10 and usually 99% Tamil films release on OTT after four weeks of theatrical release. Vettaiyan has also not been released in Hindi in multiplexes which means that the eight-week window period doesn’t apply for this film. In this scenario, Vettaiyan is likely to release on November 7 on Amazon Prime Video which has bought the OTT rights. However, since the movie is still in theatres, the official news about the OTT release will be shared only a day or two before the release date.” 

About Vettaiyan

The story of ‘Vettaiyan’ follows SP Athiyan, played by Rajinikanth, a fearless and boundary-pushing police officer known for his relentless pursuit of justice. However, Athiyan's methods lead to unintended consequences when a failed mission claims the life of an innocent, forcing him to confront the impact of his actions. As he dives deeper into a network of criminal activity and internal strife, Athiyan must grapple with his own moral beliefs, rethinking his views on justice, accountability, and redemption. 

Vettaiyan is Amitabh Bachchan's debut  film in Tamil cinema.
