Set in the fictional princely town of Morpur, the series introduces viewers to a royal family on the brink of financial ruin and a no-nonsense CEO with a plan — and possibly, a budding romance. Ishaan plays Aviraaj Singh, a reluctant polo-loving prince, while Bhumi steps into the role of Sophia Kanmani Shekhar, a driven and self-made businesswoman tasked with reviving a crumbling royal estate. What starts as a calculated business arrangement soon spirals into a whirlwind of egos, flirtations, and family drama.

Reflecting on her role, Bhumi shared, “Playing Sophia felt like stepping into a world that’s both aspirational and deeply relatable. She’s fierce, ambitious, and emotionally honest — qualities I’ve always been drawn to. I’m glad I could collaborate with Netflix and Pritish Nandy Communications for The Royals and extremely grateful that they brought this series to life — I hope people have as much fun watching it as we did making it.”

Ishaan echoed the excitement, calling the project a wild ride: “To share the screen with such legendary and accomplished actors has been inspiring and a joy. He added, “Maharaja Aviraaj is the most frustratingly charming character I’ve essayed and I hope the audience enjoys him as much as I enjoyed playing the role.”

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman, who plays a key role in the ensemble cast, may have missed the trailer launch but expressed her gratitude in a heartfelt note. “I find myself as passionate as ever about embracing new roles and opportunities. The Royals has been both refreshing and creatively fulfilling,” she said, thanking the creators for including her in the project.
