Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has announced that his son, Aryan Khan, is all set to make his directorial debut with an upcoming series. The highly anticipated project is a collaboration between Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment, with Aryan taking the reins as both creator and director.
Shah Rukh Khan took to social media on Tuesday to share the news, confirming that Aryan’s debut project will be produced by Gauri Khan. The news of the partnership was announced in Los Angeles during a special Netflix event that also showcased some of the streaming platform's most ambitious international titles slated for release in 2025.
“This 2025: Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment come together for a one of a kind Bollywood series produced by Gauri Khan and created and directed by Aryan Khan,” read the joint statement from Netflix and Red Chillies. The statement continued, “Witness Bollywood like never before… on Netflix! 🔥 Presenting Aryan Khan’s directorial debut in an all-new series, coming soon!”

About the series
The project is being described as a multi-genre narrative set against the backdrop of the Indian film industry, with hints that it may draw inspiration from Shah Rukh Khan's own rise to stardom. The official synopsis teases a story about an outsider who navigates the complex world of Bollywood and rises to become a major force in the industry.
"The series promises an unabashed, entertaining ride through the adventures of a charming, ambitious outsider navigating the glitzy yet tricky world of Bollywood," reads the statement.
Shah Rukh's message
Shah Rukh Khan shared an emotional message on social media, expressing his pride in Aryan’s achievement. “It’s a special day when a new story is being presented for the audience. Today is even more special as @RedChilliesEnt and Aryan Khan embark on their journey to showcase their new series on @NetflixIndia. Here’s to untamed storytelling… controlled chaos… gutsy scenes and lots and lots of fun and emotions. Go forth and entertain people Aryan and remember, There’s No business like Show business!!,” Shah Rukh wrote.
As the sixth collaboration between Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment, the series follows a series of successful joint ventures, including the dark comedy 'Darlings', the crime-drama 'Bhakshak', the cop-drama 'Class of ’83', the zombie horror series 'Betaal', and the spy thriller 'Bard of Blood'.
