Who Is Goddess Dhumavati?

According to ancient legend, once while Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were roaming Mount Kailash, Parvati suddenly felt an intense hunger. When Lord Shiva asked her to wait, her hunger became uncontrollable, and she ended up swallowing him. Due to the powerful effects of Shiva's internal poison, Parvati's form turned dark like smoke. This fierce, smokey form of Parvati came to be known as Goddess Dhumavati.
