WATCH | ‘Durgamati’ Trailer: The Horror-Thriller Starring Bhumi Pednekar Is An Apt Tale Of Dirty Politics With Secrets

New Delhi: ‘Durgamati: The Myth’ was earlier titled ‘Durgavati’. This female-centric horror thriller film stars Bhumi Pednekar in the role of an IAS officer. Directed by G. Ashok, this film is a remake of the 2018 Telugu film ‘Bhaagamathie’ which starred ‘Baahubali’ actor Anushka Shetty portraying the role of the protagonist. Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Durgavati’ Is Now Titled ‘Durgamati: The Myth’; Producer Akshay Kumar Unveils The New Title With A Poster The makers of ‘Durgamati’ earlier today dropped the trailer of the film. The promising trailer tells the tale of dirty politics with fear and secrets. Some particular glimpses from the trailer like Bhumi nailing her own hand against the wall and the transformation from Chanchal Chauhan to Durgamati are sure to make someone’s blood run cold. Arshad Warsi can be seen portraying the role of the corrupt and powerful politician Ishwar Prasad. Mahie Gill can be seen illustrating the role of a CBI officer who is in charge of the theft of idols from 12 temples and Jisshu Sengupta can be seen playing the role of a police officer. The CBI officer suspects the powerful politician Ishwar Prasad of the theft and hires IAS officer Chanchal for the job who has been in jail for a murder she committed. She is then sent to the haunted Durgamati mansion for her interrogation as the questioning session requires to remain a secret. The trailer looked quite similar to that of the original Telugu version. Some of the scenes have been exactly reprised from the original film starring Anushka Shetty as ‘Bhaagamathie’. On November 23, Akshay Kumar, who is the presenter of the film took to his Twitter and unveiled the new title of ‘Durgamati: The Myth’ with a poster. In the poster, Bhumi can be seen looking through the mirror with bruises on her face and her bindi partially rubbed off.
The film is produced by  Bhushan Kumar, Akshay Kumar and Vikram Malhotra under T-Series, Cape of Good Films and Abundantia Entertainment. Watch the trailer here:
