The Kerala Story Box Office Collection Day 3: Adah Sharma's Film Mints Rs 16 Crore Despite Calls For Ban

Sudipto Sen's film The Kerala Story earned Rs 16 crore at the domestic box office. 

Since its release on May 5, 'The Kerala Story' has so far made over Rs 30 crore.

New Delhi: On its third day of release, Sudipto Sen's film The Kerala Story earned Rs 16 crore at the domestic box office. Since its release on May 5, 'The Kerala Story' has so far made over Rs 30 crore.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, film analyst Taran Adarsh shared a poster of the movie. "#TheKeralaStory is UNSTOPPABLE and UNSHAKABLE... The film review on ABP Live reads: 'The Kerala Story' is also quite thematically rich. There is quite a lot of challenging Hindu religious worship, atheism, communism, and the process of indoctrinating Islam and Sharia law shown in the film which could raise quite another level of debate. The film also shows in a brutally honest light -- extremes of toxic masculinity, the vibe of innocence and the effects of company influence in tender years plus some ideological debate, but in a very mild and logical manner so as to not make the whole brainwashing process look rather inevitable.

The movie's trailer drew criticism for initially making the claim that 32,000 females from Kerala vanished and eventually joined the terrorist organisation ISIS. The Kerala Story team removed the figure after receiving criticism. The film's production company described the plot as a story about three Kerala women in its trailer description. 

Recently, the Kerala High Court refused to ban the movie's release. It was said that nothing objectionable to any single community as a whole is present in the trailer.
