New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has always managed to remain in the limelight, be it for her movies or for her controversial statements. One of the leading actresses of this generation, Ranaut has a plethora of legal cases filed against her. One of them is the defamation case filed by Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar against the ‘Queen’ actress. She was granted bail in the case by Andheri Magistrate Court in Mumbai a few days.

Now, according to the latest update, the sessions court at Dindoshi has dismissed Kangana Ranaut’s application in the defamation case. The ‘Thalaivi’ actress had sought suspension of all the proceedings before the Andheri MM Court.

A bailable warrant was issued against Kangana Ranaut in the Javed Akhtar defamation case. The bail was issued after she failed to appear in court despite being summoned. The defamation case was filed against her by the lyricist as he claimed that her statements in the media against him are baseless and false. Akhtar also claimed that her statement has damaged his reputation.

Meanwhile, speaking on the professional front, Kangana’s upcoming biopic ‘Thalaivi’, which will illustrate the journey of J Jayalalithaa is all set to hit the screens on April 23, 2021. The trailer of the movie was released last month and Kangana received lots of praises for her performance as Jaya Amma. The audience loved the striking similarity between her and Jayalalithaa and how she portrayed the character on-screen. Many celebrities including Samantha Akkineni, R Madhavan and others praised and congratulated Kangana Ranaut for the trailer. Kangana also has ‘Dhaakad’ and ‘Tejas’ in her kitty.
