A reliable source informed ABP News about the delay in the film's release. The Punjab and Haryana High Court is currently hearing a petition against 'Emergency'.
The film has been accused of being anti-Sikh. Mohali residents Gurinder Singh and Jagmohan Singh filed a petition against 'Emergency', demanding that the film be shown to Sikh representatives before its release.
In their petition, they also requested the revocation of the film's censor certificate.
In response to the petition, Additional Solicitor General Satyapal Jain, representing the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), informed the court that the certification of the film is under review. However, as of now, the film has not been granted a censor certificate.
He assured the court that the censor certificate for 'Emergency' will be issued according to established guidelines, and if anyone has objections regarding the film, they can raise them with the censor board.
The Akali Dal also expressed strong opposition to the film's release and sent a legal notice to the censor board.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) accused the film of being anti-Sikh and demanded a ban on the film, as well as a screening for Sikh representatives before its release.
While the makers of 'Emergency' have not yet issued an official statement regarding the delay in the film's release, a reliable source informed ABP News that the film will not be released on its scheduled date of September 6, and a new release date will be announced later.
According to the information, an official announcement about the postponement of the film's release is likely to be made by the makers on Monday.
