Kim Soo Hyun’s Agency Faces Stock Manipulation Probe Amid Dating Kim Sae Ron Controversy

GOLDMEDALIST, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, is embroiled in a financial scandal as it becomes involved in a larger probe into claims of stock manipulation involving Siwon School, a KOSDAQ-listed online learning platform.

The agency is now dealing with the public's anger over Kim Soo Hyun's previous connection with the late actress Kim Sae Ron, and this scandal, which was first brought to light by the Garosero Research Institute.

The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of South Korea reported the suspicious market activity at Siwon School. Officials claim that in only nine months, the value of the stock more than tripled, a sharp rise that led the FIU to report its findings to the police on suspicion of intentional manipulation. These worries were subsequently echoed by the Korea Exchange (KRX), which noted erratic trading patterns associated with the stock.

Known for its English language courses, Siwon School was once regarded as a steady listing on the KOSDAQ in South Korea. Three years ago, the stock was trading at around 1,000 KRW (USD 0.70). By April of the following year, it had risen to almost 10,000 KRW before falling back to its previous levels.

According to a report from Top Star News, a private investment business controls more than half of Siwon School's shares. According to the article, that business has the support of two different organisations, one of which is supposedly GOLDMEDALIST.

"We are not involved in any of the trading activities related to this stock," GOLDMEDALIST said in a statement in response.

This scandal arises at a time when Kim Soo Hyun is already under fire for alleged ties to the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The charges that the two had an affair when Kim Sae Ron was a minor have caused controversy and outrage in the public interest.

The ‘Queen of Tears’ actor addressed the claims head-on at a recent press conference, saying, “I’ll address the biggest concern—I did not date the deceased when she was a minor. We dated five years ago for about a year, long before Queen of Tears aired.”
