Fashion Turns 12: Didn't Expect National Award For The Film, It Changed My League, Says Kangana Ranaut

Known for her roles in Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, Kangana Ranaut praised her co-actress Priyanka Chopra and called her fabulous and cool.

As the iconic movie Fashion, which portrayed the real side of the fashion industry on reels leaving a huge impact on the audience, turned 12 today, it’s time for the starts to remember their best moments. On reviving the old memories, Kangana Ranaut shared her experiences in an interview with the leading website ETimes, and said she had not expected to get the National Award for the film. She mentioned that coming from a parallel cinema into mainstream cinema with Fashion, the movie had changed her league completely. She was quoted by the website, “I look back and see myself as a teenager, I am like I am such a dynamite of energy that I wanted to do so much. I think I just packed everything into what everything little time that I got. So for me, it’s been amazing that I got a National Award for that but to be honest, I didn’t expect it." She remembered being starstruck by Priyanka Chopra at the age of 19. Kangana felt Chopra did not treat her like a junior or a kid on the set and often got into casual conversations with her. Even as Priyanka was a big star back then, but she was extremely cool and never made her feel like she was her senior. The actress has been quoted by Etimes saying, "I felt like she is a friend, who shared food with me and asked me questions like ‘how do I look?, is this ok?, how this dress is looking?'  So I didn’t feel like she is my senior and she is such a big star. It was a nice feeling that she has that ability, it’s wonderful." Meanwhile, the actor also known for her roles in Queen’, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, was also praising her co-actress Priyanka Chopra and called her fabulous. Director Madhur Bhandarkar also shared his excitement about the completion of 12 years and shared old memories from the film on Twitter.
The film was a big blockbuster back in 2008 and Kangana won first National Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film. It was directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and Priyanka also got the Best Actress National Award for the film. The movie had such an impact that even today, the performances delivered by Priyanka, Kangana, and Mugdha are recalled by people.
