Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi are one of Bollywood’s rare couples who have been married for over three decades, but their journey has been anything but smooth. The two met on the sets of Kalank Ka Tika, where they fell in love. Despite Zarina being six years older than Aditya and her mother opposing the marriage, the couple followed their hearts and tied the knot in 1986.
Zarina Wahab on husband Aditya Pancholi's extra-marital affairs
In 1993, Aditya made headlines for his extramarital affair with Pooja Bedi, Kabir Bedi’s daughter. Their relationship was openly discussed, but it ended when Pooja’s maid accused Aditya of sexual abuse, prompting her to file an FIR against him.
Years later, in 2004, Aditya was linked to Kangana Ranaut. Their tumultuous relationship involved several public controversies, with Kangana accusing him of physical abuse and Aditya alleging that she abused him financially.
While these controversies played out publicly, Zarina revealed she was prepared for such situations. In a recent interview with Lehren Retro, Zarina shared, “I was always aware of Nirmal (Aditya’s real name)’s affairs, but I never questioned him. I only cared about how he treated me when he was home. I ignored asking him questions because it would have made him fearless. I was completely prepared for him to have affairs.”
When asked about the accusations by Pooja Bedi and Kangana Ranaut, Zarina defended her husband, saying, “He has never been an abusive husband. He is such a sweetheart. Ulta mai maar du use (For once, I might beat him). But, he is very sweet. His girlfriends accused him of these things because they didn’t get what they wanted.”
Zarina also spoke about Kangana, who she said was in a relationship with Aditya for four and a half years. She commented, “I was always nice to Kangana. She often visited my home. He was very nice to her. I don’t know what went wrong. I just can tell that I saw what he couldn’t and eventually that happened.”
