During the trailer launch event, Vicky Kaushal was asked about the ‘good news’ in his real life. Recently, rumours have been circulating about Vicky and his wife, Katrina Kaif, expecting their first child, especially after a video of the couple in London surfaced online.

Addressing the pregnancy rumours at the event, Vicky was asked when the audience could expect some 'good news' from his personal life. He humorously responded, “Abhi ke liye aap bad newz enjoy kar lo, jo hum la rahe hain. Jab uska (good news) time aayega, we won't be shying away from giving that news.”
The 'Bad Newz' trailer also includes a reference to Katrina Kaif, which Vicky revealed his wife had not yet seen by the time the trailer was launched. He mentioned that he had only hinted at her inclusion, leaving her puzzled.

The trailer shows engaging plot centered around Triptii Dimri’s character, who finds herself in a confusing predicament after discovering her pregnancy without knowing who the father is. The potential fathers are 'hero number 1,' Akhil Chaddha, played by Vicky Kaushal, and 'hero number 2,' portrayed by Ammy Virk. Akhil is shown as a lively Punjabi, while Ammy's character is more subdued.
Following the advice of her best friend, played by Neha Dhupia, Triptii's character persuades the two men to take a paternity test. In a surprising twist revealed in the trailer, the test results show that both men are the fathers due to an extremely rare scientific occurrence. The film then tracks the comedic and chaotic journey of these three characters as they navigate their extraordinary situation.
