Diljit Dosanjh Claps Back At News Anchor's Open Challenge: 'My Non-Alchohol Songs Like GOAT, Born To Shine Are Hits Already'

Diljit Dosanjh addressed the controversy surrounding his songs and reacted to a news anchor's open challenge.

New Delhi: Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh recently answered a news anchor's challenge during his performance in Lucknow on November 22 as part of his Dil-Luminati India tour. For the unversed, Diljit was under fire when the Telangana government urged him not to play songs that promoted alcohol and drugs during his performance in Hyderabad. Later, a renowned TV news anchor challenged Diljit to sing songs without mentioning alcohol and make them a hit.

Diljit Dosanjh shared a video on Instagram to respond to the anchor’s challenge. Speaking about the media's perception of him, he said, “Media mein ye baatein chal rahi hai 'Diljit vs this, Diljit vs that', main bata du aisa kuch nahi hai. Mera kisi se koi muqabala nahi hai. I receive a lot of love from everywhere."

He further said, "Ek anchor sahab hai TV pe unke baare mein baat karna chahta hoon, mujhe challenge kar rahe the ki bina sharab ke gaana hit kar ke bataye. For your kind information sir, Born To Shine, Kinni Kinni, GOAT, Naina, Lover... mere bahot saare gaane hai jo Patiala Peg se bahot zyada hit hai. Aapka challenge toh bekaar ho gaya (There is an anchor sahib on TV. I definitely want to talk about him. The other day he was challenging that Diljit can’t make a hit song without alcohol. For your information sir- Born To Shine, GOAT, Lover, Kinni Kinni, Naina. I have many songs that get more streams on Spotify than Patiala Peg. So, your challenge is already useless).”
