Uttarakhand Election 2022: Single Phase Voting To Be Held On Feb 14 — Check Assembly Constituencies Going To Polls

Uttarakhand Election 2022 Assembly Constituencies: 70 assembly constituencies from 13 districts of the state will go to the polls on February 14 in a single phase.

New Delhi: Polling in the hill state of Uttarakhand will be held in a single phase. Voting is set to take place on February 14, Monday. 70 assembly constituencies from thirteen districts will be going to the polls as campaigning for Uttarakhand election 2022 came to an end on February 12, Saturday. For the 70-member Uttarakhand assembly, 632 candidates are in the fray.

The incumbent BJP government in the state is finishing its complete term but saw three Chief Ministers on the chair in a single term. First, Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned from Chief Minister’s post on March 9, 2021. Tirath Singh Rawat was then selected by the party as the new CM on March 10, 2021.

On July 2,  2021, Tirath Singh Rawat submitted his resignation, stating that he offered to resign to “avoid a constitutional crisis."  He became the chief minister with the shortest tenure (115 days) in Uttarakhand's history. Pushkar Singh Dhami was then appointed as his replacement and he assumed office on July 4, 2021.

Contesting from the Lalkuan constituency in Nainital is former Chief Minister Harish Rawat. He is being seen as the primary candidate for the CM’s post should the Congress secure a majority in Uttarakhand

AAP declared its intention of contesting for Uttarakhand in January 2021. Ajay Kothiyal was selected as their CM candidate
