'Silent Revolution Against BRS': Telangana BJP Chief As Party Sharpens Attack Over Religion-Based Quota

Reddy claims that the Congress govt in Karnataka is levying a "Telangana election tax" on citizens on the orders of former AICC chairman Rahul Gandhi, and that the money is being delivered here.

Telangana's BJP Chief G Kishan Reddy on Monday stated that there is a silent revolution against the governing BRS in the state, and people are developing confidence that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's administration would lose and the BJP will come to power in the next Assembly elections, news agency PTI reported. Speaking at a news conference, Reddy, who is also the Union Minister for Tourism, stated that despite certain bogus survey results being published, the BJP candidates are adept at generating strong responses in the field and people are responding favourably to the party's agenda. Reddy claims that the Congress administration in Karnataka is levying a "Telangana election tax" on citizens on the orders of former AICC chairman Rahul Gandhi, and that the money is being delivered here.

"We are getting support beyond our expectations in the support. There is a silent revolution against the BRS party. People want change, they want KCR to go. Many youths are supporting the BJP despite their families supporting Congress or BRS. The guarantees given by Congress are only for gathering votes and misleading people," Reddy stated.

On BJP's poll promise regarding the abrogation of the religion-based reservation, Reddy stated: "We will implement the High Court order and remove religion-based reservations in the state," ANI reported.

According to Reddy, the only way to solve Telangana's difficulties is to establish a "double engine" government in the state.

He said that people are dissatisfied with the BRS administration because they are not receiving Dalit Bandhu and BC Bandhu initiatives, and their panchayats are not receiving funding from the state government.

He asserted that 60 to 70% of Telangana residents between the ages of 18 and 35 support Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Attacking the Congress, the BJP representative stated that the grand old party makes claims that are unattainable; nevertheless, people are recognising that promises made in other states, particularly Karnataka, are not being implemented.

He further said that the Congress is not sincere about Telangana's development, but the BJP has a track record of delivering on its pledges and would not promise anything that cannot be delivered on.

As an example, he stated that the NDA administration repealed Article 370 despite foreign pressure and threats.

Exuding conflidence in BJP coming to power in the upcoming polls, Reddy stated: "Congress is a corrupt party. The party should be defeated in Telangana. With a clear mandate from the people of Telangana, the BJP will come to power in the state."

Owaisi Slams BJP For Its Telangana Manifesto Promising To Implement Uniform Civil Code

On Monday, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi stated that the Uniform Civil Code is not necessary in the country, slamming the BJP for vowing to adopt it, and emphasised the need for more freedom of speech and expression so that individuals are not targeted based on their dress or religion, PTI reported.

Reacting to the BJP's Telangana election manifesto promises such as implementing UCC, officially declaring September 17 as "Hyderabad Liberation Day," and organising free yatras to Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and Kashi for senior citizens, the Hyderabad MP told reporters here that the BJP "indulges" in such things "instead of addressing" the country's core issues.

Slamming Home Minister Amit Shah, Owaisi said: “As far as UCC is concerned, I wish and hope that Amit Shah goes to Adilabad, Khammam and Warangal and stands in the midst of all the Adivasis and tells them about implementation of the UCC. He does not have the “intellectual guts” to go and say this thing, because the Adivasis will reject the BJP”.
