Sapna Chaudhary’s co-star Dev Kumar Deva reveals why Haryanavi singer-dancer is not contesting Lok Sabha Election 2019

Dev Kumar Deva claimed that Sapna had got an offer from Congress and she was ready to fight against cine star Hema Malini from Mathura.

Within hours of Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Raj Babbar welcoming her into the party fold, Haryanavi singer-dancer Sapna Chaudhary Sunday claimed she has not joined the Congress.
She had accused Congress of using her old pictures with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
NEW DELHI: With the Lok Sabha elections round the corner and many personalities from the entertainment industry joining political parties, Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Raj Babbar on Saturday welcomed Haryanavi singer-dancer Sapna Chaudhary into the party fold. It was claimed that Chaudhary was keen to contest from Mathura, where the BJP has fielded Bollywood actor Hema Malini. Dev Kumar Deva a close aide of Sapna, who shares the stage with her, claimed that she had filled the form of Congress party to contest Lok Sabha election 2019. After pictures on Twitter of the dancer with Congress general secretary in-charge of east Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra surfaced, the star on Sunday claimed she has not joined the Congress. Deva is the same mystery man who is seen in the viral photographs of Sapna Chaudhary and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. He is an actor and singer of repute in Haryana. While taking to ABP News, Dev Kumar Deva claimed that Sapna had got an offer from Congress and she was ready to fight against cine star Hema Malini from Mathura. Deva revealed that bio-data and documents were also submitted to Congress and after screening, it was found that she cannot contest election dues to her age. He said that the dancing sensation from Haryana, who rose to fame with her ‘aakhya ka yo kaajal’ song, is 23 years old as per the form. In India, Under Article 84 (b) of the Indian Constitution, the minimum age for becoming a candidate for the Lok Sabha is 25 years. For a candidate to the Legislative Assembly, Article 173 (b) prescribes a similar age limit of 25 years. This bars Sapna Chaudhary from contesting elections for the Legislative Assembly and Parliament.
