Rajasthan Results 2023: BJP Touches Majority Mark, Congress Far Behind, Show ECI Trends

The BJP has touched the half-way mark of 100 seats while Congress has been trailing on 68 seats in the early trends by the Election Commission of India.

Bharatiya Janata Party is leading followed by Congress as two hours of counting completes in Rajasthan for the votes polled for its Legislative Assembly on November 25. According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP is leading on 96 seats followed by Congress on 67 seats in the early trends. The counting began at 8 am starting with the postal ballots followed by the votes polled through electronic voting machines.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has maintained a lead on his Sardarpura seat in the early trends but Congress might suffer a blow as Sachin Pilot and minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas have been trailing from their respective Tonk and Civil Lines seat.

From BJP's camp, Vasundhara Raje and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore have been racing ahead from Jhalarpatan and Jhotwara constituencies respectively, however, Leader of Opposition, Rajendra Singh Rathore has been trailing from Taranagar.

The votes were polled for 199 seats of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on November 25 in a single phase. Voting for Karanpur seat was deferred after the sitting Congress MLA from the constituency Gurmeet Singh Kooner passed away last month.

The Sunday counting of polls will reveal the electoral fortunes of many top leaders in the state including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot (Sardarpura), his former Deputy Sachin Pilot (Tonk), Bharatiya Janata Party heavyweight and former CM Vasundhara Raje (Jhalarpatan) and Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Rajendra Rathod (Taranagar).
