Punjab Election 2022 | No New Tax, Mohalla Clinics, CCTV: Kejriwal's Mega Poll Promise

Punjab Election 2022: Arvind Kejriwal claimed that his government won't impose any new tax if voted to power in the upcoming assembly elections.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday promised the people of Punjab and said if his party is elected to power, they will not impose any new tax in the state.

“No new tax will be imposed in Punjab after we came into power,” ANI quoted Kejriwal as saying.

He also promised that if voted to power in upcoming assembly elections, his party would begin doorstep delivery service and Mohalla clinics. "We will make 16000 clinics and renovate hospitals in Punjab," AAP national convener said.

“Congress ruled in Punjab for 26 years and Badals were in power for 19 years. They have already done what they wanted to do. When they have already ruled for so many years, there is no point in giving them another opportunity. Five more years will be wasted,” said Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, during the public gathering in Jalandhar, Delhi CM also said that the law should be made against forceful religious conversions. “Religion is a private matter. Everybody has the right to worship a God. A law should definitely be made against religious conversions but nobody should be wrongly harassed through this. Conversions done by scaring them is wrong,” the AAP leader said.

Kejriwal urged the people of Punjab to give AAP government five years so that his party can win the people's hearts.

"Industrialists were considered BJP's vote bank in Delhi. I myself am a 'baniya but Delhi's baniya never voted for me. They started voting after I won their hearts. Give us 5 years, we will win your hearts too," he said.

Kejriwal also lashed out at Congress and opposition Shiromani Akali Dal and said that both the parties did nothing in the state and there is no point giving them one more chance.

“Congress ruled in Punjab for 26 years and Badals were in power for 19 years. They have already done what they wanted to do. When they have already ruled for so many years, there is no point in giving them another opportunity. Five more years will be wasted,” said Kejriwal.

Polling for 117 seats of Punjab assembly will be held on February 20 and counting of votes will take place on March 10.
