PM Modi Holds Meeting With CMs Of BJP-Ruled States, Discusses Roadmap For 2024 Lok Sabha Polls

During the meeting, the chief ministers briefed the PM about the development works going on in the states. They also discussed about the preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a meeting with the chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states at party headquarters in the national capital. BJP national president JP Nadda and Union minister Amit Shah were also present during the meeting. During the meeting, the chief ministers briefed the PM about the development works going on in the states. They also discussed about the preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, reported ANI. 

As per a report by ANI, the leaders were also slated to discuss on what kind of programmes should be organized to contact more and more people in order to give more strength to those states where there is a BJP government.

Deliberations on how to strengthen their position where there is no BJP government was also discussed, the report added.

Among the heads of states who arrive at party headquarters are: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Tripura CM Manik Saha, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Goa CM Pramod Sawant, and Nagaland Deputy CM Yanthungo Patton. 

The meeting took place after Modi inaugurated the new Parliament building as part of the Central Vista redevelopment project.

PM Modi said that the construction of the new complex gave employment to over 60,000 labourers and a digital gallery has been created to honour their hard work. Addressing the ceremony, PM Modi said, "Several years of foreign rule took away our pride from us. But today, India has left behind that colonial mindset. India is the mother of democracy. It is also the foundation of global democracy. Democracy is our 'Sanskaar', idea and tradition".
