Pashupati Paras Resigns From Central Cabinet After RLJP Gets Raw Deal In NDA Seat-Sharing
RLJP President Pashupati Kumar Paras resigned from the Modi cabinet on Tuesday.
Union minister and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party president Pashupati Kumar Paras resigned from the Modi cabinet on Tuesday. "I resign from the post of minister," Paras said in a press conference. He has been serving as the Minister of Food Processing Industries in the Union cabinet since 2021.
Following his resignation, sources told ABP News that Paras is in contact with Lalu Prasad Yadav and could leave for Patna by evening.
Paras said that injustice was done against his party after reports emerged that NDA would give five seats to Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party to contest the Lok Sabha polls but nothing was mentioned for the RLJP.
"5-6 days ago I had said in the press conference that I will wait till NDA announces the seats. I have sincerely served the NDA," said the RLJP chief.

"PM Narendra Modi is a big leader of the country but injustice was done to our party. Therefore, I resign from the post of Union Minister," he added.
He also wrote a letter to Modi stating that he was resigning from the cabinet.
Ahead of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's visit to Delhi on Monday for the seat-sharing talks in the state, sources told ABP News that Nitish's JD(U) was expected to get 16 seats for the contest while the Bharatiya Janata Party might keep 17 seats with itself out of which one could be reserved for a VIP.
Either Mukesh Sahani or Upendra Kushwaha was expected to be fielded from the VIP seat.
Moreover, Paswan's LJP is likely to be given five seats, while Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha could get one seat each to contest the Lok Sabha polls but there was no mention of Pashupati Paras's RLJP.
