'Not A Predictor Of Numbers, I Can Only...': Priyanka Gandhi On Congress's Prospects In Karnataka Polls

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today held a roadshow in Bengaluru's Vijayanagar on the last day of campaigning for the upcoming elections.

New Delhi: Ahead of the May 10 Karnataka Assembly elections, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday said that she can't predict numbers, but can only see the response that the party has received from the public.

She asserted that the Congress party is hopeful and confident about the result of the upcoming elections.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Priyanka said, "We are very confident and hopeful. I am not a predictor of numbers, I can only see the response that we have got from the public. The people of Karnataka want an end to corruption."

Notably, Karnataka will go to polls on May 10 while the counting of votes will take place on May 13.

Priyanka Gandhi today held a roadshow in Bengaluru's Vijayanagar on the last day of campaigning for the upcoming elections.

Addressing a rally on Sunday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “They are not talking about your (people's) real issues. I want to tell the BJP leaders that price rise, unemployment and the 40 per cent corruption of the BJP government are the real extremism.”

She said the BJP is making promises at the time of elections, but the people should cast their votes on the basis of what they have delivered in the last three years in Karnataka.

"While talking about dharma, national security and terrorism, the BJP leaders do not see that thousands of farmers had committed suicide in Karnataka under their rule. More than 1,000 unemployed youth have taken their own lives," she remarked.

Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge held various roadshows, rallies, and elections campaigns in the state.
