MP Election Results: BJP Heading To Victory On 8 Of 10 Seats In Scindia Bastions Of Gwalior And Guna
MP Assembly Election Results: Jytotiraditya Scindia's bastions are appearing to be going with BJP with the saffron party leading on eight of 10 seats in Gwalior and Guna.
Madhya Pradesh Election Results: As a shock to Congress and many exit polls, the incoming results of the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections have turned out to be unpredictable with the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) easily sweeping the state. While the final numbers would still take a few hours, the picture is more or less clear -- BJP has almost achieved victory in MP. By the time of this article, the party was leading on 161 seats whereas Congress maintained its lead on 66 seats. The saffron party is performing well in the strongholds of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia -- Gwalior and Guna.
Scinda has been an MP from Guna from 2002-2019 before losing in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Also, Scindia is a voter from the Gwalior region and the BJP is leading on eight of ten seats from both regions. Below is the status of these constituencies:
Six Assembly Seats In Gwalior
Gwalior Rural: BJP's Bharat Singh Kushwah is leading by 4,090 votes. Congress candidate Sahab Singh Gurjar is trailing.
Gwalior: BJP's Pradhuman Singh Tomar is ahead of Congress's Sunil Sharma by 5,109 votes.
Gwalior East: Maya Singh of the BJP is leading by 5,129 votes against Congress's Satish Sikarwar.
Gwalior South: BJP candidate Narayan Singh Kushwaha is ahead of Congress's Praveen Patak by 4,023 votes.
Bhitarwar: Mohan Singh Rathore of the BJP is leading with 13,500 votes. Congress leader Lakhan Singh Yadav continues to trail.
Dabra (SC): BJP's Imarti Devi is leading with a slight margin of 878 votes against Congress's Suresh Raje.
Four Assembly Constituencies In Guna
Chachoura: BJP's Priyanka Penchi is ahead of Congress candidate Lakshman Singh by 9,768 votes.
Raghogarh: Congress's Jaivardhan Singh is leading by 5,279 votes against BJP leader Heerendra Singh Bunty.
Bamori: Rishi Agrawal of Congress is leading by a big gap of 19,126 votes. BJP's Mahendra Singh Sisodia trails.
Guna (SC): Pannka Lal Shakya of the BJP is ahead by 21,247 votes against Congress's Pankaj Kaneriya.
BJP winning the MP elections ahead of Lok Sabha polls in 2024 is a big blow for the Congress party. Normally, it is the postal ballots that go in one direction and EVMs change the game. But in MP, postal ballots predicted neck and neck between BJP and Congress, and EVMs almost declared the winner.
