Scindia Loyalist Samandar Patel Returns To Congress Ahead Of Madhya Pradesh Election

Jyotiraditya Scindia loyalist Samandar Patel returned to Congress party after quitting the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Chief Kamal Nath.

Jyotiraditya Scindia loyalist Samandar Patel returned to the Indian National Congress (INC) party in the presence of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Chief Kamal Nath on Friday in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal after quitting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), reported news agency ANI. Patel joined the Congress along with some of his allies and supporters. Senior party leaders also said Patel led a convoy of more than 800 vehicles with his supporters from his hometown of Jawad in Neemuch to the party office while joining the party.

PCC chief Kamal Nath was quoted as saying by ANI: "Patel has joined the Congress party unconditionally with the party's ideology, customs, principles, and loyalty to the party. His truth has brought him here, and I have full faith that he will tell this truth to the people of his area.”

Patel said he was very happy to return to the Congress Party. Recently, there have been several such instances where Scindia loyalists returned to the Congress party.

In the recent past, the former Shivpuri district Congress President Baijnath Singh Yadav, who was working with Scindia in the Kolaras area of the district, also rejoined the Congress party along with several of his workers, reported PTI.

Schinda's aide Rakesh Gupta, who was also associated with the trader community, left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and returned to the Congress party along with his workers earlier.

The latest development comes as the state is all set to witness assembly elections later this year.

Kamal Nath attacked the BJP government saying, "In 2018, the Congress government was formed with the opinion of the public, but the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government was formed with the money power by horse-trading.”

He further said the BJP has been in government for 18 years, but the picture of the state is in front of everyone, PTI reported. Kamal Nath alleged there is a lot of corruption and scam in the states under BJP leader and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He also claimed that the  Chouhan-led BJP government is number one in atrocities against women, farmers, and youth also.
