Lok Sabha Polling Phase 6: High-decibel Campaign Ends On 58 Seats Across 8 States, UTs

On the last day of the campaign, PM Modi addressed rallies in Haryana and Punjab, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in support of the party candidate in North East Delhi seat.

The high-pitched campaigning ended for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections on Thursday, where 58 constituencies in eight states and Union territories will go to polls on Saturday.

On the last day of the campaign, Prime Minister Modi addressed rallies in Haryana and Punjab, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in support of the party candidate in North East Delhi seat.

Among the key contestants in the sixth phase are BJP's Dharmendra Pradhan from Sambalpur in Odisha, Manoj Tiwari from BJP and Kanhaiya Kumar from Congress in North East Delhi, BJP's Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur in UP, Mehbooba Mufti from Anantnag-Rajouri in Jammu & Kashmir, BJP's Abhijit Gangopadhyay from Tamluk in West Bengal, former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar from Karnal, Naveen Jindal from Kurukshetra and Rao Inderjit Singh from Gurgaon.

PM Modi took a dig at the I.N.D.I.A bloc, saying the cow hasn't given milk but the fight over ghee has started as the alliance is talking about having five PMs in five years. He also asserted that till he is alive, no one can snatch the reservation for Dalits and tribals.

In Delhi, the BJP's poll campaign saw Modi addressing two rallies besides canvassing by Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Smriti Irani and Piyush Goyal and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, including Yogi Adityanath, Pushkar Singh Dhami  and Pramod Sawant.

In Bihar, nearly 1.5 crore voters will decide the electoral fate of 86 candidates in eight seats of the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections. Voting will take place in Valmiki Nagar, Pashchim Champaran, Purbi Champaran, Sheohar, Siwan, Maharajganj, Vaishali and Gopalganj Lok Sabha seats in the penultimate phase on Saturday.

In the northern state of Haryana, all 10 Lok Sabha seats and Karnal assembly bypoll will go to polls in which political prestige of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, his predecessor M L Khattar, two Union ministers and two Congress stalwarts including Kumari Selja is at stake.
