Lok Sabha elections: BJP releases list of 24 candidates; fields Anurag Sharma from Jhansi
The Bhartiya Janata Party on Saturday released another list of 24 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls and replaced Union minister Uma Bharti with Anurag Sharma as its nominee from Jhansi.

The BJP has released a list of 24 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
It replaced Union minister Uma Bharti with Anurag Sharma as from the Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
Uma Bharti had already announced that she would not contest the elections.
NEW DELHI: The BJP on Saturday released a list of 24 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, replacing Union minister Uma Bharti with Anurag Sharma as from the Jhansi parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh. Bharti had already announced that she would not contest the elections. The list includes eight candidates in Haryana, four each in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, and three each in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. The BJP also announced its candidates for one seat each in West Bengal and Odisha. In Haryana, the saffron party fielded Ratan Lal Katariya from Ambala, Nayab Singh Saini from Kurukshetra, Suneeta Duggal from Sirsa, Rao Indrajeet Singh from Gurgaon, Sanjay Bhatiya from Karnal, Ramesh Chandra Kaushik from Sonipat, Dharmvir Singh from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh and Krisnpal Gurjar from Faridabad. In Madhya Pradesh, the party gave tickets to Vivek Sejwalkar from Gwalior, Natthan Shah from Chhindwara, Mahendra Solanki from Devas. From Odisha's Jagatsinghpur, the BJP fielded Bibhuprasad Tarai. Rajasthan's Karauli-Dholpur seast, the party gave ticket to Manoj Rajuriya, from Barmer Kailash Chaudhry will contest polls and from Rajsamand Diya Kumari. In Uttar Pradesh, R K Patel will contest from Banda, Keshri Patel from Phulpur and Nilam Sonkar from Lalganj. The list includes the name of Jyotirmoy Mahto from West Bengal's Purulia. In Jharkhand, Sunil Singh will fight from Chatra, Annapurna Devi Yadav from Kodarma, and Sanjay Seth from Ranchi. With this, the party has so far announced 407 candidates for the seven-phase Lok Sabha polls which will start on April 11 and continue till May 19. The counting of the votes will take place on May 23.
