Amit Shah Casts His Vote, Says 'People Will Elect Govt That Provides Stability & Prosperity'

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Amit Shah said that, despite the heat, about 20% of voting had been completed by the voters of Gujarat in just 2.5 hours.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah cast his vote in Ahmedabad under the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat on Tuesday morning. The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader is the party's candidate for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat. He is contesting to retain the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat.

Shah was seen greeting his supporters, interacting with them and even signing autographs as he approached the polling booth at a sub-station in Ahmedabad's Naranpura locality. Shah was accompanied by his wife Sonal Shah, son Jay Shah and other family members.

The Congress has fielded party secretary Sonal Patel from Gandhinagar. 

After casting his vote, Amit Shah spoke to the media and said that, despite the heat, about 20% of voting had been completed by the voters of Gujarat in just 2.5 hours. He said the voting trends were encouraging. “I have full confidence that the voters will elect a government that will provide stability, security, and prosperity and will make India free from poverty,” he added.

He urged the people to participate in the “festival of democracy”. 

He also called for voters across the country to vote and “elect a stable government that provides a safe, prosperous country".

“Elect a government which is against corruption, wants to eradicate poverty, wants to make a self-reliant India, wants to make a developed India and wants to take India number one in every field in the whole world," Shah added. 

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shah also made a special appeal to voters in Karnataka, where voting for the Lok Sabha elections concludes today.

“Karnataka will conclude the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 by voting today. I appeal to the people to vote for the government that will continue to invest in infrastructure development of the state, support to farmers and justice for the poor, SCs, STs, OBCs and for the betterment of the state.,” he said in Kannada.

Before casting his vote, Shah accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his polling booth in Ranip.
