LS Polls Results: Amid Rumours Of Alliance Switch By Nitish, BJP MP Chief Weighs In
The BJP-led NDA won 293 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls and crossed the 272-seat majority mark in the Lok Sabha elections.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and Madhya Pradesh unit chief VD Sharma on Friday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that the saffron party managed to win all the Lok Sabha seats in the state and delivered 100 percent results because of his leadership.
The BJP-led NDA won 293 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls and crossed the 272-seat majority mark in the lower house, however, the saffron party failed to secure the majority mark on its own. In the NDA's 293 seats, Madhya Pradesh played a key role, as the BJP emerged victorious in all 29 seats in the state.
The NDA bloc is set to form a government at the Centre. Speaking on the coalition government, the BJP MP chief said that there is no problem with having a coalition government, as there was an NDA government earlier and the same is the case today. He further stated that this is the same coalition that is against anti-national forces, and it is even stronger than before.
Notably, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s party, JDU, is one of the crucial partners in the NDA bloc as it managed to bag 12 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. Speaking about NDA ally Nitish Kumar, Sharma said that he is with us and will remain with us.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP's performance in Uttar Pradesh is being seen as one of the reasons for the BJP not securing a majority in the lower house. The saffron party, which secured 62 and 71 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the 2019 and 2014 polls, only managed to win 33 seats this time around.
Speaking on the results in UP, the BJP leader said that there are many things to ponder regarding what happened in the state, and the party has always looked to move towards betterment and development. He also asserted that the saffron party has opened its accounts in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
