Lok Sabha Elections 2024: INDIA's 26 Vs NDA's 38 — How Do The Constituent Parties Stack Up

As the NDA and the INDIA keep taking digs at one another over their respective coalitions, here's how they stand in Lok Sabha.

Soon after the two mega meets of the two biggest political power blocs in India, a debate has been raging over the acronyms that formed the nomenclatures of both. On one side was the BJP-led NDA on the other was the united Opposition's I-N-D-I-A. The NDA, in which new members have been added, has retained its old name National Democratic Alliance. However, the Opposition, in the wake of new parties and seat equations, ditched the old name of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and came up with a new moniker Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance or INDIA.

Immediately after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge defined the acronym for the Opposition, the BJP pounced on the bloc, with Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma saying it was holding on to a "colonial legacy". The Congress immediately hit back at him, pointing out that his bio read 'Chief Minister of Assam, India'.

While INDIA and NDA continue to take potshots over each other, here are the constituent parties of each bloc and their strengths in Lok Sabha:
