Lalu Yadav’s Son Tej Pratap To Launch New Political Outfit Ahead Of Bihar Polls? Here's What You Need to Know

Tej Pratap Yadav, recently expelled from RJD by his father Lalu Prasad Yadav after publicly announcing his relationship with Anushka Yadav, is expected to announce a new political party.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, may announce the formation of a new political party/ organisation today (Friday). According to reports, he is expected to hold a press conference at 5 PM at his residence, where he could officially reveal the details. This move comes just days after his father expelled him from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for six years and also disowned him from the family.

Will Tej Pratap Form New Political Outfit?

Notably, Bihar Assembly elections are due later this year (2025). However, no official announcement has yet been done by the Election Commisison Of India (ECI).

Tej Pratap Yadav is currently the MLA from Hasanpur and earlier served as MLA from Mahua (2015–2020). With the political atmosphere heating up in Bihar, and after being expelled from his party, Tej Pratap seems to be taking a separate political path. It is believed he may try to demonstrate his political strength in the upcoming elections.

What Led To The Rift With Party And Family?

The controversy is largely tied to Anushka Yadav. While Tej Pratap is already fighting a divorce case with his first wife, Aishwarya Rai, he recently went public on social media (X) declaring his relationship with Anushka. This public statement reportedly triggered a strong reaction from his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, who then expelled him from the party and the family.

Will Anushka Yadav Join Tej Pratap’s New Party?

Following the news of a new party, speculation has grown around Anushka Yadav possibly joining Tej Pratap politically. While nothing official has been stated so far, political observers note that anything is possible in politics.
