Mallikarjun Kharge Called Me 'Poisonous Snake' To Make 'Family' Happy: PM Modi In Sindhanur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi furthered his attack on Congress, as he mentioned that Kharge called him a "snake" in order to please the "family".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again raked up the issue of Congress calling him names during a public speech in Sindhanur, Karnataka. Modi, BJP's star campaigner, during his third public address on Tuesday, said Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called him a "poisonous snake" in order to please the "family", referring to the Gandhis without directly naming them.

PM Modi was referring to Kharge's recent speech at Kalaburagi where he said: “PM Narendra Modi is like a poisonous snake. Now if you want to test a venom because I compared him with a poisonous snake, beware it will lead to your death.”

Meanwhile, Modi had already responded to the Congress president's "poisonous snake" comment at a rally in Kolar on Sunday.

The Prime Minister had said: “Snake stays on the neck of Lord Eeshwar. The people of this country are as equal as the Lord Eeshwar to me, and I am their snake who stays with them.”

'Panja That Used To Loot'

Escalating the attack on the Congress party, Narendra Modi once again reiterated his "85 paise commission govt" barb in Sindhanur. He said the Centre used to release one rupee, but when the benefit used to trickle down to people in Karnataka only 15% was the actual benefit received.

"...Right after independence, the kind of loot Congress indulged in didn't allow the fruits of development to reach villages. Congress's PM himself said, "Delhi sends Re 1 but only 15 paise reach the ground, 85 paise gets stolen...What was that 'panja' which used to loot the 85 paise? Congress has made its image of an "85 paise commission Govt," PM Modi said in his Sindhanur speech.

Over scrapping 4% reservation for Muslims belonging to the OBC community being shot down by the BJP state government, PM Modi said the party has stood like a "rock against appeasement politics".

"Each and every worker and voter of BJP has been standing like a rock against the appeasement politics of Congress and JD(S)," Modi said in Sindhanur.
