Goa Assembly Polls: TMC Releases Manifesto With 10 Promises. Women, Employment, & Youth In Focus
It has 10 major points in which TMC promises to boost Goa’s GDP up to 1.8 lakh crores from the current 0.7 lakh crores with an annual per capita income of more than 11 lakhs.
New Delhi: Weeks ahead of the assembly polls, Trinamool Congress (TMC) has released its manifesto for Goa focusing on all the needs of the state. The manifesto was released on Saturday, jointly for TMC and its alliance partner for the state, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP).
It has 10 major points in which TMC promises to boost Goa’s GDP up to 1.8 lakh crores from the current 0.7 lakh crores with an annual per capita income of more than 11 lakhs.
It also promises to generate two lakh new jobs in the state with 80 percent reservation for the Goan people. The employment promise includes 10,000 vacancies in the government sector that are supposed to be filled in the next three years.
The manifesto next talks about the woman by promising a direct benefit transfer of Rs 5,000 per month to a woman of every household. It also promises 33 percent reservation for women in all jobs including the private sector and 50 percent reservation for women in all local bodies.
It also promises the establishment of two fast-track courts to address crime against women and children. It also talks about an SOS Suraksha mobile app for women’s safety.
For the youth of the state, the manifesto promises collateral-free loans up to Rs 20 lakh with an interest rate of four percent under Yuva Shakti. It also promises the provision for unemployment insurance for up to six months a year for the youth.
The manifesto further focuses on the land ownership rights of the Goan families residing there since before 1976. It promises 50,000 subsidised homes for the homeless people, and a loan up to Rs 10 lakhs to revamp the Goan homes at subsidised interest rates.
The manifest further talks about 24*7 electricity supply, pot-hole free all-weather roads, drainage system, and piped drinking water for every household among other promises.
Goa will be going to the polls on February 14 and the result of the election will be declared on March 10.
