Delhi Election 2025: After BJP's 'Chunavi Hindu' Jibe At Kejriwal, AAP Mocks Amit Shah With 'Chunavi Muslim' Poster
AAP released a poster dubbing Amit Shah as 'chunavi Muslim'. This comes after BJP targeted Kejriwal with its 'chunavi Hindu' poster over AAP's Rs 18,000 monthly compensation to priests poll promise.
The political ground in Delhi is heating as election day approaches, with the Aam Aadmi Party eyeing a hat-trick and the Bharatiya Janata Party which is determined to wrest power from Arvind Kejriwal's party. As the political tussle between the two major parties contesting the Delhi Assembly election intenifies, the AAP on Tuesday mocked Home Minister Amit Shah by releasing a poster of him that dubbed him a 'Chunavi Musalman'. The move is being seen as a counter attack at the BJP after the latter released a poster calling Arvind Kejriwal a "chunavi Hindu".
In the poster, Shah has been mentioned as the director of the film. He is seen donning a Kashmiri woolen cap with the Jama Masjid in the background. The poster also mentions that the film features 'Rohingyas, Maulvi, Bangladeshi, Maulana, Imam, Waqf Board" with the producer of the film as "Lootus Productions", an apparent reference to the BJP's party symbol.

The poster said the film will be released before the election and further read, "Have you ever wondered why the BJP remembers Muslims only during elections?"

AAP's attack at BJP comes when the parties have been trading barbs over the infiltration of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in the national capital. The AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi slammed the BJP, accusing it of settling down Rohingya refugees in the city without state government's consultation and providing them with official documents to later use their support during elections for vote bank.
In a counter attack, the BJP blamed the AAP for settling Rohingyas in Delhi and hit out at the party for spreading false narratives and making misleading claims. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva accused the AAP of settling Rohingyas in Delhi to secure their vote bank.
On December 31, the BJP had released a similar poster calling AAP supremo a "chunavi Hindu" after he promised Rs 18,000 monthly compensation to temple priests and granthis in gurudwaras in Delhi under the Pujari Granthi Samman Rashi Scheme ahead of the February polls. The caption of the poster shared on social media said, "visiting temples for me is a cunning guise, respect for priests is an election façade, I have always ridiculed Sanatana Dharma."
The poster depicted Kejriwal as a priest wearing vermilion and rudraksha beads, which looked familiar to actor Rajpal Yadav's character in the movie 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa'.
In another jibe at Kejriwal, the BJP had called him a 'chaliya naag' (deceptive snake), accusing the former Delhi CM of fooling the elderly and the women in the national capital with AAP's welfare schemes.
In another major development, the Election Commission of India on Tuesday announced the polling and results date for the Delhi Assembly polls.
