The political heat is soaring even amid dropping temperatures as the polling dates draw near in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
Both Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress, the main rivals in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan are conducting back-to-back rallies with top leaders from both the parties visting the poll-bound states with allegations and counter-allegations from both the sides in a bid to woo the voters.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union minister Amit Shah and other leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi from Congress extensively toured Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in the recent days.
The campaigning in MP and Chhattisgarh will conclude on Wednesday as the polls for the 230-member MP Legislative Assembly will be held in a single phase on November 15 along with the voting for second phase in Chhattisgarh.
The first phase of polling in Chhattisgarh was held on November 7 on 20 assembly constituencies while the reamining 70 seats will undergo polls on Friday, November 17.
Down south, a fierce fight is set to take place in Telangana between Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's Bharat Rashtra Samithi, looking to retain power in the state, and the Congress party which is aiming to break BRS's 9-year spell.
Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen is also contesting the November 30 Telangana Assembly polls.
Voting in the northeastern state of Mizoram has already taken place along with the first phase in Chhattisgarh on November 7 and Chief Minister Zoramthanga has exuded confidence sayin his ruling Mizo National Front will sweep the polls and will win more than the majority mark of 21 seats in the state.
The counting of votes for all the five states will simultaneously take place on December 3.
