Tiruchirappalli: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Kumar.P from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 150476 votes. The polling / voting in Tiruchirappalli constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam#s Dr. V. Elangovan and Congress Party#s Su.thirunnavukkarasar
Tiruchirappalli 2014 Lok Sabha PollsIn the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

- 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, TMC(M) candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TMC(M) candidate Adaikkalraj.L attained 434149 votes and INC's Gopal K bagged 169441 votes.
- 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate L. Adaikala Raj attained 414628 votes and CPM's T.K. Rangarajan bagged 204922 votes.
