Background

Sundargarh: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Jual @ Juel Oram from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 18829 votes. The polling / voting in Sundargarh constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Baijayant Panda and Biju Janata Dal#s Sunita Biswal

Sundargarh 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Biju Janata Dal won 20 out of the 21 parliamentary seat with 44.1 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 21.5 percent vote share.

Out of the 12 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Sundargarh, 9 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Jual @ Juel Oram of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Dilip Kumar Tirkey by a margin of 18829 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Jual Oram attained 326395 votes and INC's Christopher Ekka bagged 173881 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Jual Oram attained 316069 votes and INC's Sunil Kumar Singhdeo bagged 190041 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate with a difference of 13073 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Frida Topno attained 171937 votes and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate George Tirkey bagged 158864 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 38070 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Frida Topno (W) attained 158458 votes and JD candidate Mangala Kisan bagged 120388 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 91752 votes JD candidate Dabananda Amat had got 245380 while INC got Maurice Kujur votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Maurice Kujur attained 176107 votes and JNP's Ignace Majhi bagged 69560 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 40951 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Christopher Ekka attained 103983 votes and JNP candidate Gangadhar Pradhan bagged 63032 votes
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 44553 votes. Here, BLD leader Debananda Amat attained 114640 votes and INC candidate Gajadhar Majhi bagged 70087 votes
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SWA candidate with a difference of 17979 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Gajadhar Majhi attained 68285 votes and SWA candidate Devananda Amat bagged 50306 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, SWA candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 44818 votes. Here, SWA leader D. Amat attained 105272 votes and INC candidate I. Maghi bagged 60454 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between GP and INC here GP candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 6075 votes.
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, GP candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 36555 votes. Here, GP leader Chandramani Kalo attained 87759 votes and INC candidate Udit Pratap Singh (St) bagged 51204 votes

अब तक 12 राज्यों के 229 लोकसभा सीटों पर हुए सर्वे के मुताबिक एनडीए को 134 सीटों पर और यूपीए के 55 सीटों पर जीत दर्ज करने की उम्मीद है. वहीं अन्य को 40 सीटें मिलती दिख रही हैं.

लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले एबीपी न्यूज़ ने जनता की नब्ज टटोलने के लिए नीलसन के साथ मिलकर पश्चिम बंगाल का सर्वे किया है. सर्वे के मुताबिक मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी की तृणमूल कांग्रेस बीजेपी पर भारी पड़ रही है. राज्य की 42 लोकसभा सीटों में टीएमसी को 31 सीटें मिलती दिख रही हैं. बता दें कि इस सर्वे के लिए 10 हजार 612 लोगों से बात की गई है, नीलसन ने ये सर्वे 15 से 22 मार्च तक राज्य की सभी सीटों पर किया है. जानें किसको कहां और कितनी सीटें मिलीं.

झारखंड की 14 सीटों का हाल देखें तो हजारीबाग, गोड्डा, सिंहभूम, लोहरदगा और राजमहल की सीटों पर UPA के जीत हासिल करने की उम्मीद है और इन 5 सीटों के अलावा बाकी बची सभी 9 सीटों पर NDA को जीत मिलने की उम्मीद है. NDA के जिन 9 सीटों पर जीत हासिल करने की उम्मीद है वो खूंटी, गिरीडीह, धनबाद, रांची, जमशेदपुर, चतरा, कोडरमा और पलामू हैं.
