Srinagar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Tariq Hameed Karra from Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) won the elections by a margin of 42280 votes. The polling / voting in Srinagar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between People's Democratic Party#s Aga Syed Mohsin and Jammu & Kashmir National Conference#s Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 3 out of the 6 parliamentary seat with 34.4 percent vote share while the Jammu & Kashmir People's Democratic Party managed to win just 3 seats with a 20.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Srinagar Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 25.90% Lok Sabha percent with 28.31% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 23.26% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 4979 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Srinagar, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Tariq Hameed Karra of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party as he defeated Farooq Abdullah by a margin of 42280 votes.

Here, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader Omar Abdullah attained 98422 votes and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party candidate Advocate Ghulam Nabi Lone bagged 75263 votes
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate defeated Independent candidate with a difference of 36859 votes. Here, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader Omer Abdullah attained 55542 votes and Independent candidate Mebooba Mufti bagged 18683 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 70839 votes JKN candidate Omar Abdullah had got 144609 while INC got Aga Syed Mohdi votes.
