Background

Srikakulam: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won the elections by a margin of 127692 votes. The polling / voting in Srikakulam constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Telugu Desam Party#s Ram Mohan Naidu and YSR Congress Party#s Duvvada Srinivas

Srikakulam 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telugu Desam Party won 15 out of the 25 parliamentary seat with 29.1 percent vote share while the YSR Congress Party managed to win just 8 seats with a 28.9 percent vote share.

Here, Telugu Desam Party leader Yerrannaidu Kinjarapu attained 361906 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Killi Kruparani bagged 330027 votes
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 96882 votes TDP candidate Yerrannaidu Kinjarapu had got 373851 while INC got Kanithi Viswanadaham votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate had defeated TDP(LP) candidate by a margin of 86365 votes TDP candidate Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu had got 286582 while TDP(LP) got Appayya Dora Hanumanthu votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate defeated NTR TDP(LP) candidate with a difference of 34578 votes. Here, Telugu Desam Party leader Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu attained 234278 votes and NTR TDP(LP) candidate Jaya Krishna Mandamuri bagged 199700 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate with a difference of 26664 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Viswandham Kanithi attained 235641 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate Appayyadora Hanumanthli bagged 208977 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate by a margin of 50114 votes INC candidate Viswanatham Kanithi had got 288263 while TDP got Appayyadora Hanumanthu votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Telugu Desam Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TDP candidate Appayyadora Hanumantu attained 298167 votes and INC's Rajgopalarao Boddepalli bagged 173699 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP(S) candidate by a margin of 78989 votes INC(I) candidate Rajagopalarao Boddepalli had got 197336 while JNP(S) got Gouthu Latchanna votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and BLD here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his BLD counterpart with a difference of 8734 votes.

  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, SWA candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 60358 votes SWA candidate G. Latchanna had got 189771 while INC got B. Rajagopalrao votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SWA candidate with a difference of 31815 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Boddipalli Rajagopala Row attained 112172 votes and SWA candidate Suggu Srinivasa Reddy bagged 80357 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 16356 votes.
