Rajnandgaon: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Abhishek Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 235911 votes. The polling / voting in Rajnandgaon constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Santosh Pandey and Congress Party#s Bholaram sahu

Rajnandgaon 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 10 out of the 11 parliamentary seat with 48.7 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 1 seats with a 38.4 percent vote share.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 26715 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Dr. Raman attained 304611 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Motilal Vora bagged 277896 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 52241 votes INC candidate Motilal Vora had got 304709 while BJP got Ashok Sharma votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 59276 votes BJP candidate Ashok Sharma had got 222616 while INC got Shivendra Bahadur Singh votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 47410 votes. Here, Independent leader Shivendra Bahadur Singh attained 178132 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Dharampal Singh Gupta bagged 130722 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 70194 votes BJP candidate Dharam Pal Gupta had got 249389 while INC got Shivendra Bahadur Singh votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Independent candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Shivendra Bahadur Singh attained 165891 votes and IND's Kishorilal Shukla bagged 64838 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 58496 votes INC(I) candidate Shivendra Bahadur Singh had got 121747 while JNP got J.P.L. Francis votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 87933 votes BLD candidate Madan Tiwary had got 178476 while INC got Ram Sahai Pandey votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 98970 votes INC candidate Ramsahai Pandey had got 157256 while NCO got Padmawati Devi votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 86440 votes INC candidate P. Devi had got 132444 while CPI got P. Roy votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 23968 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Birendra Bahadur Singh attained 76012 votes and PSP candidate Shyamnarayan Kashmir bagged 52044 votes

लोकसभा चुनाव के पहले चरण में पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश की आठ सीटों पर गुरूवार शाम छह बजे तक 63.69 फीसदी औसत मतदान हुआ है. वर्ष 2014 में इन सीटों पर 65.76 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ था.

दोपहर तीन बजे तक सहारनपुर में 54.18 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ, जबकि गाजियाबाद में 47 प्रतिशत, मुजफ्फरनगर में 50. 60 प्रतिशत, बिजनौर में 50 . 80 प्रतिशत, कैराना में 52. 40 प्रतिशत, मेरठ में 51.00 प्रतिशत, गौतमबुद्ध नगर में 49.72 प्रतिशत और बागपत में 51.20 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुजफ्फरनगर जिले में एक व्यक्ति को धर्म विशेष के प्रति आपत्तिजनक बातें सोशल मीडिया पर डालने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है. थानाध्यक्ष पंकज त्यागी ने बताया कि बुधवार को मीरानपुर कस्बे से आरोपी को उस समय गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया जब कुछ लोगों ने उसके खिलाफ यह शिकायत की कि उसने धार्मिक भावनाओं को आहत करने वाली पोस्ट डाली है. उन्होंने कहा कि आरोपी के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है.
