Background

Phulpur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Keshav Prasad Maurya from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 308308 votes. The polling / voting in Phulpur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Keshri Patel and Samajwadi Party#s Pandhari Yadav

Phulpur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Phulpur Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 50.19% Lok Sabha percent with 50.92% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 49.28% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 8424 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 15 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Phulpur, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Keshav Prasad Maurya of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Dharam Raj Singh Patel by a margin of 308308 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate had defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate by a margin of 64347 votes SP candidate Atique Ahamad had got 265432 while BSP got Keshari Devi Patel votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 20039 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Dharam Raj Singh Patel attained 183282 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Beni Madhav Bind bagged 163243 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 14520 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Jang Bahadur Singh Patel attained 216124 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Beni Madhav Bind bagged 201604 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate with a difference of 16021 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Jang Bahadur Singh Patel attained 162844 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Kanshi Ram bagged 146823 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate had defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate by a margin of 59601 votes JD candidate Ram Pujan Patel had got 150640 while BSP got Beni Madho Bind votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 32501 votes. Here, JD leader Ram Pujan Patel attained 198266 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Chandrajeet Yadav bagged 165765 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated LKD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Ram Pujan Patel attained 242538 votes and LKD's Rahman Ali bagged 127966 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, JNP(S) candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 38788 votes. Here, JNP(S) leader B.D. Singh attained 145820 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Kamla Bahuguna bagged 107032 votes
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Kamala Bahuguna attained 205038 votes and INC's Ram Pujan Patel bagged 82686 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BKD candidate by a margin of 66780 votes INC candidate Vishwa Nath Pratap Singh had got 123095 while BKD got B. D. Singh votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SSP candidate with a difference of 36183 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader V. L. Pandit attained 95306 votes and SSP candidate Janeshwar bagged 59123 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated SOC candidate by a margin of 64571 votes INC candidate Jawahar Lal Nehru had got 118931 while SOC got Ram Manohar Lohia votes.
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated PSP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Jawahar Lal Nehru attained 227448 votes and PSP's Chet Ram bagged 61322 votes.

महाराष्ट्र में भारतीय जनता पार्टी गठबंधन 48 में से 40 सीटों पर बढ़त बनाए हुए है, जबकि कांग्रेस गठबंधन 7 सीटों पर बढ़त बनाए हुए है.

भले ही महाराष्ट्र में भी मोदी लहर काम कर रही है, बीजेपी यहां 40 सीटों पर बढ़त बनाए हुए है लेकिन फिर भी यहां की औरंगाबाद सीट पर एआईएमआईएम आगे बढ़ती दिख रही है. AIMIM के उम्मीदवार इम्तियाज़ ज़लील सैयद इस सीट पर करीब 2 लाख वोटों के साथ पहले स्थान पर है. जबकि शिवसेना के चंद्रकांत खैरे 1 लाख 60 हज़ार के करीब वोटों के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर हैं
