Mumbai-South-Central: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Rahul Ramesh Shewale from Shiv Sena (SHS) won the elections by a margin of 138180 votes. The polling / voting in Mumbai-South-Central constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Shiv Sena#s Rahul Shewale and Congress Party#s Eknath gaikwad

Mumbai-South-Central 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 23 out of the 48 parliamentary seat with 27.3 percent vote share while the Shiv Sena managed to win just 18 seats with a 20.6 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai-South-Central Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 53.12% Lok Sabha percent with 53.48% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 52.68% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 9571 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 21 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai-South-Central, 19 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Rahul Ramesh Shewale of the Shiv Sena as he defeated Eknath M. Gaikwad by a margin of 138180 votes.

• 2009 Lok Sabha Elections: In 15th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Shiv Sena candidate by a margin of 75706 votes INC candidate Eknath Mahadeo Gaikwad had got 257523 while SHS got Suresh Anant Gambhir votes.
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Shiv Sena candidate defeated Nationalist Congress Party candidate with a difference of 22188 votes. Here, Shiv Sena leader Mohan Rawale attained 128536 votes and Nationalist Congress Party candidate Ahir Sachin bagged 106348 votes
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Shiv Sena candidate had defeated Samajwadi Party candidate by a margin of 79036 votes SHS candidate Mohan Vishnu Rawale had got 176323 while SP got A Majeed Memon Advocate votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Shiv Sena and Samajwadi Party; here Shiv Sena candidate defeated his Samajwadi Party counterpart with a difference of 153 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Shiv Sena candidate had defeated Samajwadi Party candidate by a margin of 58652 votes SHS candidate Mohan Vishnu Rawale had got 173900 while SP got Datta Samant votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Shiv Sena and Indian National Congress here Shiv Sena candidate defeated his Indian National Congress counterpart with a difference of 4402 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 10466 votes. Here, Independent leader Vamanrao Mahadik attained 160167 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Dadasaheb Rupwate bagged 149701 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate had defeated Independent candidate by a margin of 72611 votes IND candidate Datta Samant had got 158841 while IND got Deshpande Roza Vidyadhar votes.
