Mainpuri: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Mulayam Singh Yadav from Samajwadi Party (SP) won the elections by a margin of 364666 votes. The polling / voting in Mainpuri constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Prem Singh Shakya and Samajwadi Party#s Mulayam Singh Yadav

Mainpuri 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Out of the 13 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Mainpuri, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Mulayam Singh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party as he defeated Shatrughan Singh Chauhan by a margin of 364666 votes.

• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, SP candidate Mulayam Singh Yadav attained 460470 votes and BSP's Ashok Shakya bagged 122600 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 28026 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Balram Singh Yadav attained 244113 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Darshan Singh Yadav bagged 216087 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 10366 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Balram Singh Yadav attained 264734 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ashok Yadav bagged 254368 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 51958 votes SP candidate Mulayam Singh Yadav had got 273303 while BJP got Updesh Singh Chauhan votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, JP candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 12165 votes. Here, JP leader Udai Pratap Singh attained 126463 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ram Naresh Agnihotri bagged 114298 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 84291 votes JD candidate Udai Pratap Singh had got 239660 while INC got Krishna Chandra Yadav votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated LKD candidate by a margin of 55008 votes INC candidate Balram Singh Yadav had got 214322 while LKD got Ravindra Singh Chauhan votes.
