In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

રોહિત શર્માની અણનમ સદીની મદદથી ટીમ ઈન્ડિયાએ વર્લ્ડકપમાં પોતાની પ્રથમ મેચમાં દક્ષિણ આફ્રિકાને 6 વિકેટે હરાવ્યું હતું. 228 રનના લક્ષ્યાંકનો પીછો કરવા ઉતરેલી ટીમ ઈન્ડિયાએ 47.3 ઓવરમાં 4 વિકેટ ગુમાવી 230 રન ફટકાર્યા હતા. હિટમેન રોહિત શર્માએ પોતાની વનડે કેરિયરમાં 23મી સદી ફટકારી હતી. તેની સાથે જ તેમણે ભારતના પૂર્વ કેપ્ટન સૌરવ ગાંગુલીને પાછળ છોડી દીધો છે જેમના નામે 22 વનડે ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સદી છે. ભારત તરફથી રોહિત શર્માએ અણનમ 122 રન ફટકાર્યા હતા. તે સિવાય ધોનીએ 34 અને લોકેશ રાહુલ 26, કોહલી 18 અને હાર્દિક પંડ્યાએ અણનમ 15 રન ફટકાર્યા હતા.

આફ્રિકા તરફથી રબાડાએ 2 અને ફેહલુકવાયો અને મોરિસે 1-1 વિકેટ ઝડપી હતી.આ અગાઉ ચહલે 4 વિકેટ ઝડપી તરખાટ મચાવી દીધો હતો. ભારતીય બોલરો સામે સાઉથ આફ્રિકાના બેટ્સમેનો સંઘર્ષ કરતા જોવા મળ્યા હતા.

આ અગાઉ સાઉથ આફ્રિકાએ ટોસ જીતીને પ્રથમ બેટિંગ કરવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો હતો. ભારતના મજબૂત બોલિંગ આક્રમણ સામે સાઉથ આફ્રિકા સંઘર્ષ કરતી જોવા મળી રહી હતી. સાઉથ આફ્રિકાએ ખૂબ ઝડપથી વિકેટો ગુમાવી હતી જેને કારણે કોઇ મોટી પાર્ટનરશીપ થઇ શકી નહોતી. સાઉથ આફ્રિકાએ એક સમયે 89 રનમાં પાંચ વિકેટ ગુમાવી દીધી હતી. જોકે અંતમાં ક્રિસ મોરિસે 42 રનની શાનદાર ઇનિંગ રમી હતી અને ટીમના સ્કોરને 200ને પાર પહોંચાડ્યો હતો.

મોરિસ સિવાય કેપ્ટન ડુપ્લેસિસે 38, એડિલે ફેહલુકવાયોએ 34, મિલરે 31 અને વાન ડેર ડુસેને 22 રનની ઇનિંગ રમી હતી. રબાડાએ પણ અણનમ 31 રન ફટકાર્યા હતા. ભારત તરફથી ચહલે ચાર વિકેટ ઝડપી હતી. બુમરાહ અને ભુવનેશ્વર કુમારે બે-બે વિકેટ ઝડપી હતી
