Kolar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, K.H.Muniyappa from Indian National Congress (INC) won the elections by a margin of 47850 votes. The polling / voting in Kolar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s S Muniswamy and Congress Party#s K.h muniyappa

Kolar 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 17 out of the 28 parliamentary seat with 43 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 9 seats with a 40.8 percent vote share.

Out of the 22 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kolar, 19 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of K.H.Muniyappa of the Indian National Congress as he defeated Kolar Kesava by a margin of 47850 votes.

Here, Indian National Congress leader K.H. Muniyappa attained 344771 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate D.S.Veeraiah bagged 321765 votes
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 11635 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader K.H. Muniyappa attained 385582 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Veeraiah D S bagged 373947 votes
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 82782 votes INC candidate K.H. Muniyappa had got 321964 while BJP got G. Mangamma votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JD candidate by a margin of 77972 votes INC candidate K.H.Muniyappa had got 304261 while JD got Balaji Channaiah votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 17042 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader K H Muniyappa attained 310349 votes and JD candidate Balaji Channaiah bagged 293307 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 62377 votes INC candidate K.H. Muniyappa had got 235902 while BJP got V. Hanumappa votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Y.Ramakrishna attained 350009 votes and JD's B.Muniyappa bagged 217407 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, JNP candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 44765 votes. Here, JNP leader V. Venkatesh attained 239562 votes and Indian National Congress candidate G. Y. Krishnan bagged 194797 votes
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 97512 votes INC(I) candidate G.Y. Krishnan had got 182241 while JNP got T. Channaiah votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 73016 votes INC candidate G. Y. Krishnan had got 196290 while BLD got Y. Ramakrishna votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated CPM candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate G. V. Krishnan attained 217037 votes and CPM's G. Narayanaswamy bagged 22518 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 63889 votes INC candidate G. Y. Krishnan had got 131041 while IND got Thirumalappa votes.
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 30059 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Doddathimmaiah attained 104163 votes and IND candidate G. Narayanaswamy bagged 74104 votes
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and ; here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his counterpart with a difference of 0 votes.
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 95407 votes INC candidate Doddathimmiah had got 203988 while IND got J. T. Gopalakrishnan votes.
