Background

Khagaria: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Choudhary Mahboob Ali Kaiser from Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) won the elections by a margin of 76003 votes. The polling / voting in Khagaria constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Lok Janshakti Party#s Mehboob Ali Kaiser and Vikassheel Insaan Party#s Mukesh Sahni

Khagaria 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 22 out of the 40 parliamentary seat with 29.4 percent vote share while the Lok Janshakti Party managed to win just 6 seats with a 6.4 percent vote share.

The total voter turnout was 60.07% Lok Sabha percent with 56.23% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 64.42% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 23868 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 13 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Khagaria, 10 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Choudhary Mahboob Ali Kaiser of the Lok Janshakti Party as he defeated Krishna Kumari Yadav by a margin of 76003 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate had defeated Janata Dal (United) candidate by a margin of 67123 votes RJD candidate Rabindra Ku. Rana had got 322440 while JD(U) got Renu Kumari votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Janata Dal (United) candidate defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate with a difference of 31822 votes. Here, Janata Dal (United) leader Renu Kumari attained 293412 votes and Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Nayana Rana bagged 261590 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, SAP candidate had defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate by a margin of 83187 votes SAP candidate Shakuni Choudhury had got 333475 while RJD got Anil Kumar Yadav votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated SAP candidate with a difference of 12377 votes. Here, JD leader Anil Kumar Yadav attained 292892 votes and SAP candidate Shakuni Choudhary bagged 280515 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, JD candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, JD candidate Ram Sharan Yadav attained 303773 votes and BJP's Vimala Rai (W) bagged 150552 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, JD candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, JD candidate Ram Sharan Yadav attained 300774 votes and INC's Satish Pd. Singh bagged 164252 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Chandra Shekhar Prasad Verma attained 252055 votes and CPM's Yogeshwar Gope bagged 110529 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP(S) candidate by a margin of 53769 votes INC(I) candidate Satish Pd. Singh had got 170264 while JNP(S) got Sumitra Devi votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Gyaneshwar Prasad Yadav attained 230687 votes and INC's Jai N. Mehta bagged 81395 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between SSP and INC; here SSP candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 548 votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, SSP candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 96245 votes SSP candidate K. Singh had got 205253 while INC got J. L. Mandal votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated SWA candidate by a margin of 61069 votes INC candidate Jiyalal Mandal had got 118385 while SWA got Bidaya Nand votes.
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 71102 votes INC candidate Jiya Lal Mandal had got 121677 while IND got Suresh Chandra Mishra votes.
