Erode: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Selvakumara Chinnayan S from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 211563 votes. The polling / voting in Erode constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s G. Manimaran and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s A. Ganesha Murthi

Erode 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Erode Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 76.33% Lok Sabha percent with 77.90% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 74.77% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 16268 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Erode, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Selvakumara Chinnayan S of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as he defeated Ganeshamurthi.A by a margin of 211563 votes.

• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated DMK candidate with a difference of 39178 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Paramasiva Gounder attained 156739 votes and DMK candidate Narayanan bagged 117561 votes
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SP candidate with a difference of 45086 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Balakrishnan attained 169708 votes and SP candidate Pasupathi bagged 124622 votes
